The Florida Renaissance Festival at Quiet Waters Park

Every February and March, a corner of Quiet Waters Park becomes the village of Kimmendale for the Florida Renaissance Festival, South Florida's long-running renaissance fair. The 2027 season, its 35th, runs eight weekends, Saturdays and Sundays from February 6 to March 28, 10 a.m. to sunset.

What's here

  • Jousting on horseback three times a day.
  • Twelve stages: sword fighters, minstrels, magicians and comedy.
  • An artisan marketplace of more than 100 merchants.
  • Turkey legs, sweets and pubs with ale, cider, mead and wine.
  • Games of skill: axe throwing, archery, Jacob's ladder, fencing.
  • Rides like the giant rocking horse, and a maze.

Good to know

The festival is run by its own organizers, not the county: tickets, parking and the daily schedule come from ren-fest.com and 954-776-1642. The 2027 box office is cashless (cards and mobile pay); some vendors inside take cash only, and there are ATMs.

Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at sunset, Saturdays and Sundays only. Each weekend has its own theme (pirates, Vikings, a St. Patrick's weekend and so on); the festival says the 2027 themes will be announced soon, and we'll add them here when they are.

What there is to do

Knights in armor joust on horseback three times a day; check the day's schedule at the gate and find a spot by the list early. Twelve stages run shows all day, from sword fights and comedy to music and magic, and costumed performers wander the lanes. More than 100 merchants sell glass, pewter, leather, pottery, clothing, wooden toys and weapons, many demonstrating their craft. Then there's the food: giant turkey legs, sweets, and pubs pouring ale, cider, mead and wine.

Tickets

Tickets are sold for single days, with season passes and bundles, at ren-fest.com; the 2027 prices hadn't been posted when we last checked (October 2026). Prices are the same online and at the box office, and the admission price includes tax and park fees. Buy ahead to skip the line, and keep your QR code on your phone.

Rules worth knowing

  • Only service animals; no pets.
  • No outside food, drinks or coolers, except for medical needs and infants.
  • No real weapons; costume weapons must be sheathed or peace-tied.
  • Costumes from any era are welcome, but keep them family-friendly.
  • Rain or shine; no refunds for weather.
  • Wagons ($12 a day) and wheelchairs ($35) can be reserved in advance at 727-276-2700.

Tips

Arrive near opening to beat the lines. Wear comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen; it's an all-day walk on grass and dirt. During the festival, parts of the park around the grounds, including the back nine of the disc golf course, are closed, and Woofing Waters is closed for the season. To make a weekend of it, book a tent at the park's campground well ahead.
