Camping at Quiet Waters Park
Quiet Waters is the only Broward County park where you don't bring a tent. The county rents canvas wall tents already set up on wooden platforms, plus two tepees and a few cabins, in a quiet corner of the park by the lake. It's the easiest first campout in South Florida.
What's here
- Rent-a-Tent sites: a pre-set 10-by-10-foot canvas tent on a raised platform, sleeping up to six.
- Two tepee sites.
- Cabins (call the park office for availability).
- At each site: picnic table, charcoal grill, fire ring, water and electricity.
- Restrooms with hot showers for registered campers.
- Free use of sports equipment from the park office.
Good to know
Reserve by calling 954-357-5100 or emailing QuietWatersPark@Broward.org (office hours 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), or book online through Broward's WebTrac. There are no RV sites at Quiet Waters.
The tents and tepees
The tents are classic canvas wall tents, about 10 by 10 feet, already pitched on wooden decks a step off the ground, so you stay dry when it rains and there's nothing to set up. Each sleeps up to six. Bring sleeping bags or air mattresses, pillows, a lantern and a cooler; you don't need a tent, stakes or a ground cloth.
The two tepees are tall canvas cones on their own sites, a hit with kids, and come with the same grill, fire ring and picnic table.
Prices
- Rent-a-Tent or tepee site: $45 per night for up to 4 people aged 6 and up, plus $4 per night for each extra person (6 people maximum).
- Security deposit: $100, refunded if the site is left as you found it.
- Pets: $5 per pet per night plus a $50 pet deposit, two pets maximum.
- Cabins: $150 per night November to April, $135 May to October, for up to 4 people; $20 per extra person; $300 deposit.
- Veterans rate in November: $30 per site per night.
Gate admission is included for registered campers, and campers can buy a discounted Splash Adventure pass when the water park is open. Prices are Broward County's current fee schedule; tax applies.
Checking in and the rules
- Check-in from 3 p.m.; check-out by 1 p.m.
- The person reserving must be 18 or older and stay on site.
- Quiet hours 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.; no amplified music.
- Beer and wine only, no glass, and no liquor.
- Fires only in the fire ring or grill; don't cut vegetation for firewood.
- No fireworks, sky lanterns, confetti, glitter or polystyrene.
- Stays of up to 14 nights.
- One car per site plus one more vehicle.
Registered campers can come and go after the park closes, but must stay within the campground. Cancel in writing at least six days ahead for a full refund; closer than that, you pay for the nights (up to five).
By the lake
The campground is set apart from the busy day-use areas on a lake, with a sand volleyball court and horseshoe pit for campers. Mornings are the best part: mist on the water, herons and ibis along the shore, and the park still empty before the gates open at 8.
Bed & Breakfast Camping Weekends
Several times a year the park runs Bed & Breakfast Camping Weekends: a two-night stay (Friday 3 p.m. to Sunday 1 p.m.) for $120 per site, with breakfast and family activities, usually timed with the Family Campfire & Hayride night. In late 2026 they're on November 13–15 and December 18–20. They sell out, so book as soon as dates are posted. See our events calendar for the current dates.
What to bring
Bedding, a lantern or flashlights, charcoal and a lighter for the grill, firewood, a cooler, bug spray (essential at dusk in summer), sunscreen, and a rain plan for summer afternoons. The park office lends sports equipment to campers for free, so ask for a ball or a set of horseshoes. With dogs, bring proof of rabies vaccination and a 6-foot leash.
